Holiday Painting

I staged and painted a birds-eye view of the iconic holiday plant, the Poinsettia. These plants rank among the most popular flowers people associate with the Holiday Season. Their botanical name, “Euphorbia Pulcherrima,” means “very beautiful.” The red, white, or pink structures are modified leaves called bracts. The yellow blooms in the center of the bracts are the flowers. Because these flowers are small, people often overlook them; therefore, I highlighted them as a close-up detailed view.
