Snake Eyes 12x12"
Snake Eyes 12x12"
Tchotchke Series
This work is part of my "Tchotchke series," in which I stage scenes featuring found items from resale shops or formerly owned collectibles.
I found these vintage celluloid dice at an antique shop. “Snake Eyes” is a term from the dice game Craps. When two ones appear after rolling the dice, they resemble the black circles called "pips" in the eyes of a real snake, hence the name. To stage this painting, I arranged the dice with a red background similar to the color used as coverings at Craps tables in Las Vegas.
