My coastal life paintings capture a feeling of relaxation and timelessness. Children seem to be the most carefree and independent while they enjoy frolic and concentrated play in the surf and sand. This oil painting is of two little girls, taking a moment to view what is happening beyond the waves. A mother’s hat is providing shade for one while both take a break from the water to dry in the warm sunlight. The background is composed to highlight the grand scale of the surf and sand compared to the petite size of children.
