This shiny ceramic swan, found at a resale shop in Park City, Utah, became one of my Tchotchke still life arrangements. Red and Black are two of my favorite colors, so I draped a red gossamer with glass to highlight form and reflection. The scene, therefore, celebrates a pairing of soft, see-through drapery and the crisp, reflective ceramic of the swan. The swan sits on glass, indicating a sense of water, ready to swim out of the curtain and into the light.

These still life “Tchotchke Series” paintings breathe new life as fine art 2D “presents” by depicting imaginative yet realistic scenes using inanimate pre-owned objects.
