Every Holiday season, a local garden center dedicates ample space to selling unique Holiday decorations. I selected the three ornaments in this work specifically for their adorable character, texture, clothing details, and animated expressions. I lived with them for a bit, and the idea came to me to stage the scene as "We Three Kings": a dog, a rabbit, and a skunk, bearing gifts, guiding all to a holiday light. The staging was created as an animation, with a pond and whimsical snow-capped mountains in the background. From above, a hint of a heavenly sparkly stream creates illuminated orbs. The three, aka “Kings”, are mesmerized, viewing thy “perfect light”, pure, divine truth–God.
