Tchotchke Series
Some of my still life paintings are staged scenes featuring items I find at resale shops. This creation using a cute ceramic bear collectible with gummy bear props, with an appropriate title that garners a tongue-in-cheek smile. These tchotchke series originals are gallery-wrapped over 2-inch deep sides to give the appearance of a gift, a boxed present.
Found collectibles, once valued for their display decor, have brand-new legacies as artistic expressions on canvas.
