Tchotchke Series
Some of my still life paintings are staged scenes featuring items I find at resale shops. This painting is a tongue-in-cheek creation using an inanimate collectible with props, along with an appropriate title that garners a smile. These tchotchke series originals are gallery-wrapped over 2-inch deep sides to give the appearance of a gift, a boxed present.
Found collectibles, once valued for their display decor, have brand-new legacies as artistic expressions on canvas.
