Annual Valentine’s Love Series: Charming Botanicals
In Celtic folklore, it is believed that the willow tree brings good luck, as people would knock on its trunk for good fortune. This tradition is the origin of the famous phrase “knock on wood.” Additionally, the sound of wind blowing through willow leaves was said to be elves whispering to one another.
The willow tree is also known as a "weeping willow" because raindrops run down its long leaves, giving the appearance that the tree is crying. Therefore, it is commonly associated with immortality and rebirth, which makes it a common landscape feature in graveyards.
The romantic and scientific renderings of vintage botanical paintings inspired this annual Valentine's artwork release.
*Each of the four original artworks in this year's series can be purchased individually or as a complete set of four, while available.
