This watercolor series, made with love, features the intricate, delicate forms of various orchids, one species per original. In a modern approach, I created illustrative backgrounds, either filled with graphics or simple color planes, that add a unique touch to the compositions.
Orchids have a magical elegance prized throughout the world. They are among the most diverse and oldest families of flowering plants. Orchid blooms are often colorful and fragrant, and their unique appearance is both aesthetically beautiful and visually perfect. The smallest orchid is the size of a dime, and the largest can weigh several hundred pounds!
