This mixed media painting depicts an Australian Eucalyptus tree. I created this piece during the Australian 2019/2020 firestorms. The horizon line in the back is subtly lined with fire indications. These trees are robust and known for surviving and reviving after fire, thanks to their fire-resistant trunks and leaves. The Eucalyptus symbolizes a spiritual connection to the land for indigenous people and, globally, has become an emblem of Australia's natural beauty.
Majestic and mythical, trees are ancient living organisms revered by many cultures for their symbolism, such as physical and spiritual nourishment, transformation and liberation, unity, and fertility.
