General Process

My preference is to coordinate a photo shoot and work from my reference photographs. Provided photos with good resolutions can also be used if a photo shoot is not feasible.
I will travel to take reference photos. I work in Simi Valley and charge $100 per day to travel for a photo shoot within Ventura County or the West San Fernando Valley. Outside of these areas, travel expenses are $250 per day. Long distance travel that includes airfare is decided on a case by case basis.
Once we agree to commence with the commission, I will provide a contract for signature. The agreement includes the payment schedule, an agreed timeline for completion and shipping specifics when applicable. A small oil painting (up to 8 x 10 inches) will be completed between 2-4 weeks. Depending on the complexity of the imagery, large canvases take from 4-12 weeks or longer.
If the painting is a compilation of a few photographs or verbal ideas, I will provide either a photoshopped composite, or a small sketch for approval once a deposit is received.
Photo updates will be shared throughout the process to ensure the painting is progressing to your satisfaction.
